I found that it was very elegant and calming. It also seems like Doug had intented that the veils that flows beside the bride gives a feel of a waterfall.
However, because the picture was cropped and not having to see the bride's face and only focusing on her lone figure it gives of a bit of sadness. It seem like that bit of sadness the why I see it, is because of the darkness/shadow of the chair and the stairs as it gives a glowing affect to the white dress of the bride making it the light shinning through the "darkness".

Doug also seem to like to take unique pictures of the decorations of weddings. As he wrote "I do not follow the traditional boundaries of wedding photography. I would prefer to balance along the edge."
From this picture I see that the "art" would be in the form of marriage and the ring sealing it. and the war would be the misunderstand that the couple would face in the future as that is my interpretation of the photo.

I think that Doug's work really inspired me into thinking of other ways a photographer would take pictures at engagements, weddings and even parties. The creativeness that he puts into the placement of the event really capture my interest.
